Coltix: Technical Questions
The short version: it runs smoothly on a modest rig, there's no sign-in wall, and your save can travel with you. Details below.
What are the minimum and recommended system requirements?
Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1060 6 GB / RX 580, and 22 GB of free storage. Recommended: Intel Core i7-10700 / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2070 / RX 6700 XT, and an SSD, which holds 60 FPS at 1440p with weather effects on high. On Steam Deck, the game runs at a locked 40 FPS on default settings.
Which platforms will Coltix be available on?
It launches on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch version is planned for a later window. There's no mobile port in the works — the weather-bending gestures need proper sticks and triggers to feel right.
Does the game support both controller and keyboard-and-mouse input?
Yes, both are fully supported. The controller layout is the default experience, with storm-turning mapped to the right stick, while the PC version includes a complete remappable keyboard-and-mouse scheme that makes fine wind-tracing noticeably more precise. You can even mix inputs mid-play, swapping between controller and mouse at any moment.
Is Coltix online-only, or can I play it fully offline?
It is a purely single-player game with no online-only requirements. There's no account wall, no always-on DRM, and no multiplayer component. Once installed from the download or the disc, you can play the entire journey without an internet connection — achievements just sync the next time you're online.
How do cloud saves and cross-save work?
Coltix uses automatic cloud saves on every platform. If you own the game on both PC and a console, cross-save transfers run through your platform account — you can move a save between devices as often as you like, and the sync happens in the background. Manual export is also available for players who prefer local backups.
What accessibility options are included?
Quite a few: fully remappable controls, lock-on wind assist (which lowers the precision needed when steering gusts), adjustable text size and UI contrast, a colorblind-friendly palette for the storm-glyph puzzles, and a setting that softens screen shimmer during weather transitions. Menus are navigable with screen readers on all platforms.
